Invisalign for Children at Allure
At Allure Face & Smile, we believe a beautiful smile should feel natural, confident and uniquely the patient’s own and for children, that journey often starts earlier than parents expect. Dr Monica Pais is trained in advanced Invisalign techniques and offers Invisalign First, the version of the Invisalign system designed for growing children.
Guiding jaw development, not just straightening teeth
Invisalign First
Invisalign First is designed for children roughly aged 6 to 10, while they still have a mix of baby and adult teeth. Common reasons for assessment include:
-
Crowding or gaps
-
Overbite, underbite or crossbite
-
Teeth coming through out of position
Rather than correcting a finished smile, treatment focuses on guiding jaw development and creating space for adult teeth to come through. This can help reduce the likelihood of more complex treatment in adolescence.

Is early treatment right for my child?
Not every child needs early intervention, and not every case suits aligners. Dr Pais assesses jaw growth, tooth spacing and bite before recommending anything. Where early treatment isn’t appropriate, she’ll explain the alternatives, including monitoring growth and revisiting orthodontics in the teenage years.

3D Digital Scanning
No messy impressions.
The iTero 3D scanner captures a precise visual of your child’s teeth within seconds, and most children find it quick and comfortable.
You can even preview a simulation of how their smile could develop.

Frequently asked questions
1. At what age can my child start Invisalign First?
Invisalign First is generally suitable for children roughly aged 6 to 10, while they still have a mixture of baby and adult teeth, though every child develops at a different rate. Dr Pais will assess your child individually rather than relying on age alone.
2. Will my child need braces again when they’re older?
Some children who have early treatment will need a further short course of aligners or braces once all their adult teeth have come through, while others won’t. This depends on how their bite and jaw develop, and Dr Pais will discuss this at ongoing reviews.
3. Is the initial consultation really free?
Yes — consultations at Allure, including a 3D scan for Invisalign enquiries, are complimentary and without obligation.
4. How long does treatment usually take?
Treatment length varies depending on what’s being corrected and how a child’s teeth and jaw respond, so Dr Pais will give you a personalised estimate once she has assessed your child.
5. Does my child need to wear the aligners all the time?
Aligners are generally recommended for most of the day and night, being removed for eating, drinking (other than water) and cleaning. We’ll give clear, practical guidance at your child’s fitting appointment.
6. Is the 3D scan uncomfortable for children?
Most children find the iTero digital scan quick and comfortable, without the need for traditional putty impressions, though individual experiences can vary.
7. What if my child loses or damages an aligner?
Please contact the clinic as soon as possible so Dr Pais can advise on the best way to keep treatment on track.
8. How do we get started?
Book a complimentary consultation with Dr Pais, where she’ll examine your child’s teeth and jaw development and discuss, honestly, whether early treatment is appropriate.
